Updated on:

As the weather cools down and the leaves start changing colors here in St. Louis, that means it's time for another seasonal product update roundup! Keep reading to get an overview of all of the exciting updates the team made to LACRM this summer. And learn how these new features can improve your workflow.

Duplicate contacts and companies

We started off June with a frequently requested feature - the ability to duplicate contacts and companies! With the click of a button, this update makes it possible to create a copy of a contact or company, with all of the same fields filled out.  You can read the full announcement here.

Duplicate a contact using this button under actions!

How this can help you:

This feature is a great time-saver. Use it when you are creating contact records for multiple co-workers who share a job title and company. Or when you are creating a family of contacts who share a home phone and a home address. You can use this for companies as well - this is a perfect feature to use when a business has multiple locations but shares a company email and phone number. These are just a few ways you can use the duplicate feature!

We launched three exciting new features in July - while in the middle of a heatwave here in St. Louis!

Assign a group

This feature lets administrators create a private group and assign it to another user on the account. You can read the full feature announcement here.

Here’s an example of what it looks like to assign a group to another user on the CRM.

How this can help you:

This feature is a great one for managers who want to delegate a list of contacts to an employee or team member. It makes it easy to help your team stay organized. Learn more about managing group permissions in this help article.

Unsaved notes prompts

We also launched a feature that gives you a pop-up to warn you if you’re about to leave a page before you’ve saved your note. Read the full announcement here!

Here’s the warning message you’ll receive if you try to navigate to a different page in the CRM while you have an unsaved note.

How this can help you:

This feature is a great one for any person who takes copious notes on contact and company records. Now, if you are having an especially busy day at work, the CRM will prompt you to finish the note you were entering before you navigate away from the page. That means no more unfinished notes.

Backdate notes

In July, we also launched a new feature that lets you backdate notes in the CRM. This is a great feature for busy days when you don’t have time to enter notes in the CRM. This way, you can enter your notes whenever you have time while still accurately capturing the day the event, call, or anything else you’re taking notes on took place. Read the full announcement here!

Click the small calendar icon under the note you are entering to backdate it.

How this can help you:

This is a great tool to use to help you keep your notes organized in the CRM.  You can learn more about how to backdate notes here.

As a bonus, you can also use this as a workaround to “pin” a note to the top of a contact’s page. If there’s a very important note you want to make sure you can always see, you can enter the date as something far in the future, so it always shows up at the very top of your contact history.

Currency fields

In August, we kicked things off with a new field type, currency fields, that makes it easy to track monetary values in the CRM. Read our currency field announcement here.

Take a look at an example of currency fields in a pipeline report!

How this can help you:

Currency fields are great for tracking revenue, commission, sale value, and anything else money-related! Learn more about all of our custom field types here and take a look at some tips for incorporating currency fields into your workflow.

Transfer pipeline items between records

We also launched a feature that lets you transfer pipeline items between contact and company records. Read our full announcement here!

Click transfer to transfer a pipeline item to a different contact or company!

How this can help you:

The transfer pipeline feature is great for staying on track with your goals even as contacts change jobs and companies change hands. Anyone with a long sales cycle will find this tool especially useful.

Our most recent product update gives you the ability to RSVP to events in LACRM! Learn more in our product announcement here and get a sneak peek at what is coming up next with the LACRM calendar.

Take a look at some example RSVP statuses!

How this can help you:

Stay on top of your guest list in the CRM! Users on the CRM will be able to RSVP to your events. And you can use the RSVP tool to keep a log of which non-CRM users ended up attending your events.
