Deleting Contacts and Companies
There are four ways to delete contacts from Less Annoying CRM. Typically the most efficient way depends on how many contacts you need to delete or which specific group of contacts require deletion -- if you're unsure of the most efficient way to remove your contacts, shoot us an email or give us a call and we'll walk you through it.
Deleting an individual contact or company
You can delete an individual contact or company record from the page menu on the left of their contact or company profile page in the CRM. Under the "Actions" section, you'll see an option there that says either "Delete." Simply click and then confirm in the window that appears!
Deleting contacts and companies in bulk
If you need to delete multiple contacts, deleting one contact at a time can be tedious and inefficient. If you go to your Contacts page (by clicking "Contacts" in the left navigation bar), you can use the checkboxes along the left side of the list to select and delete multiple contacts in one fell swoop. When you check off the contacts, a window will appear at the bottom of the page that gives you the option to delete the selected contacts from the system.
These checkboxes are available on your full contact list, from the group interface, or on a page of search results.
Note that there is a "Select All" checkbox at the bottom of the page, which can be used to select every contact in the list (if there are more than 500 records in your list, you'll need to confirm that you want to select more than just the first page). This is commonly used for deleting the entire CRM database when users wish to re-enter everything from scratch, or for deleting entire groups of contacts and companies.
Undoing a past import
Another form of deleting contacts comes from undoing an import. This method is mostly used when a large group of contacts has imported improperly and needs to be removed and reimported. To find this option, go to Contacts --> Import Contacts. If you've run any imports in the past, you'll see a section in the page menu (on the left) called "Previous imports," which contains each of those imports, organized by date. To undo any of these imports, click the "View" link next to the import in question. On the next page, you'll see a few options on the right side of the page. Click "Undo this import" to remove all of the contacts and companies from that import from your CRM database.
Deleting contacts and companies via the API
If you're using the API to connect your website or system to the CRM programmatically, you can delete contacts and companies via that integration. See our page in the API help section for details on the code required to delete records in this manner.
