Groups can have different visibility levels, private or public.
Private groups are visible only to the user who created them.
Public groups are visible to all users on the account.
- Please note: group visibility does not impact the visibility of records within the group.
- If a user doesn't have access to records in a group, making the group public will not give them access to those records. Read more about contact permissions here.
You can edit group visibility on the Groups settings page.
- Please note: only admins can make groups public. If you don't see that option, you'll need to contact an admin on your account.
More nuanced group permissions can be created used teams to share a group with some, but not all, users. Learn more about teams here.
