Why we bill monthly

As you can probably tell from our name, we try really hard to not be annoying. There are many people who (understandably) don't like the idea of paying a monthly fee for software and so in this article, we're going to explain why the subscription model makes sense for Less Annoying CRM, and why we think it's in the best interest of the customers (even if it doesn't seem that way).

Why we charge monthly fees instead of a one-time fee

Traditionally, software companies would sell you a product which you would install on your computer. Once you paid for the software, it was yours. You never had to pay for it again, and you never had to deal with the software company again. Less Annoying CRM instead charges a small monthly fee. The reason we use a subscription model instead of the traditional one-time fee is because unlike traditional companies, we are offering much more than just software. We're offering top-notch services as well.

When you use traditional software, you're responsible for installing it correctly, making sure the data is backed up, making sure the information is safe from viruses and hackers, and installing patches. Then, after a few years the software becomes outdated and you have to buy new software, handle the upgrades, and possibly even migrate your data. That sounds like a pain.

With Less Annoying CRM, we handle all the backups for you so you never have to worry about losing anything. We handle security, bug fixes, and everything else that you previously had to do yourself. To put it simply, our product comes with a professional I.T. staff so that you can get back to focusing on your business. We also regularly release new features which are added to the software at no charge. Instead of making you buy a new version every three years, your Less Annoying CRM software will grow and evolve over time so you never have to worry about upgrading. On top of all those things, we offer phone and email support so if you ever have questions you can just give us a call and we'll help you out.

That's why we use the subscription model. It allows us to offer you fantastic ongoing service in addition to fantastic software. Plus, at $15/month, you'll probably be paying much less in the long run than you would if you bought some other CRM software for a one-time fee, but had to upgrade to a new version every few years.

Why it's actually better for the customer

In addition to everything stated above, the SaaS model actually leads to a better product. Think about the incentives for a company that makes all of their money up-front, before the customer has really had a chance to become familiar with the product. Obviously in that scenario, the company will be more interested in marketing and sales, and less interested in product design and ongoing customer support. Well, that's how traditional software companies operate.

With Less Annoying CRM, we earn our money slowly and over a long period of time. If at any point you feel that you no longer like the product or you're not happy with the support we're offering, you can leave. Even if we wanted to, we couldn't make empty promises to get you to sign up because we only succeed as a company if you stay happy with us for a long, long time. The monthly billing model allows customers to hold software companies accountable for their products and services long after the initial sale is made, and that's definitely a good thing for the customers.
