Disabling your browser's autofill settings

If you have trouble with your own information overwriting a contact’s details when you save or edit a contact, the autofill in your browser is likely the culprit. Autofill settings will save your typical form entries to pre-populate your details for you; however, they also tend to be overzealous and may fill your details into other forms, like the contact form in LACRM. In order to prevent that from happening, you’ll need to turn off the autofill setting in your browser. Here are some instructions on how to turn off autofill based on the browser you use.

Google Chrome

In Google Chrome, select the three vertical dots in the upper right corner, just below the “X” that you would select to close the window. In the menu that appears, select “Settings,” which appears near the bottom. On the next page, you can select “Autofill” on the left side of the page.

Then select “Addresses and more” and then turn off the option to the right of “Save and fill addresses.” Once you’ve made that change, it’ll automatically be saved so that forms are no longer automatically filled with your details.

Microsoft Edge

In Microsoft Edge, select the three horizontal dots in the upper right corner, just below the “X” that you would select to close the window. In the menu that appears select “Settings” near the bottom. On the next page, select “Addresses and more” from the center of the page.

Select the option to the right of “Save and fill addresses” to turn it off. When turned on that option will appear blue, when turned off it will appear gray. Once you’ve made that change, it’ll automatically be saved so that forms are no longer automatically filled with your details.

Mozilla Firefox

In Mozilla Firefox, select the three lines in the upper right corner, just below the “X” you would select to close the window. In the menu that appears select “Options” from the middle.

On the next page, select “Privacy & Security” from the left side, and scroll down to the section “Forms and Autofill.” Within that section, uncheck the option “Autofill addresses” to turn autofill off. Once you’ve made that change, it’ll automatically be saved so that forms are no longer automatically filled with your details.

Safari

In Safari, select “Safari” along the top of the page, and then choose “Preferences” in the dropdown. In the window that opens, select “Autofill” along the top.

There you’ll see a list of options that Safari can use for autofill options, and you can uncheck the options for “Using info from my contacts” and “Other forms” (if you’d like you can turn off all options). Once you’ve unchecked those options, it’ll automatically be saved so that forms are no longer automatically filled with your details.
