As a small business owner, you face unique challenges. But you also have a major strength that many larger companies don’t have: your personal connection to your customers. Below, I share tips for using LACRM to reinforce the personal connections that make small businesses special:
- ℹ️Use the “Background Info” field: If you haven’t been using the background info field in the CRM, I’d recommend it. It’s a perfect place to store information a customer shares with you that you want to remember later. For example, write down “Esther has three grandchildren” in the background info field. Now, the next time you talk to Esther you’ll have a nice, personal conversation starter that she’ll appreciate.
- 🗣️Respond to feedback: Using our form tool, you can create feedback forms to send to customers and clients. If they share some feedback you really appreciate, send them an email thanking them with specifics. This is the kind of thing that larger companies often don’t have bandwidth for, but shows customers you care.
- 🎂Remember their birthday: You can filter by birthday in the CRM at any time. Then, send your client or customer nice birthday wishes via email or a mailed card. (You can even offer them a birthday discount if it’s applicable to your work.) They’ll appreciate the personalized touch.
- 📝Take detailed notes: Fully utilize the CRM’s note-taking feature. The better notes you take, the more meaningful your calls with customers can be later on. Highlight, bold, or underline especially important information to make it stand out. And use numbered lists and bullet points to keep your notes organized.
- ✅Set tasks to remind yourself to follow up: It’s easy to forget to reach out to a long-time customer because you are so busy with the day-to-day of finding new customers. Setting a task for yourself in the CRM is a great way to make sure you are following up with your current customers so they stay happy ongoing clients!
These are just a few ideas, but when you are using LACRM, keep in mind strategies that play to your strengths as a small business. There is so much you can do that isn't possible for larger businesses! And any work you do in the CRM today can pay dividends in the future.
