How to search for events

While the CRM search doesn’t currently allow you to search events, there is a workaround that you may be able to use. This option is different for searching a past event or future event, and does require knowing approximately when the event happened. In both cases, you’ll use your browser’s search function to search for an event name or keyword.

Note: if you have Google calendar sync or Outlook calendar sync turned on, you can instead search for an event in Google or Outlook. The Google calendar and Outlook calendar searches will provide more thorough searches than the options through LACRM explained below.

How to search past events

You can search for events in the past using the Activity report. If you mouse over “Reports” in the left navigation bar you can select “Activity report.” That’ll pull up a list of all activity, and in the page menu on the left you should see a section “Filters.” The first option there is “Filter by date range,” which by default will be the past week. You can select that and update the date range to include whenever you know the event occurred. The second option in the same section is “Filter by activity type.” You can select that and then choose “Events” and apply the filter.

The Activity report will now show all of the events that happened within your selected date range. You can then use your browser’s search function (Control F on a PC, Command F on a Mac) to search for a keyword or phrase. Exactly how the browser’s search appears will depend on the browser, but it will look something like this:

How to search future events

You can search for future events using the Agenda view on the calendar. If you click on “Calendar” in the left navigation bar, you can view the calendar there. In the upper left corner, you should see a mini view of the month, and just above that you can select “Agenda” to switch to the Agenda view of the calendar.

The Agenda view will shows events this week, and if the event is further in the future you’ll need to select to view additional weeks. If you scroll to the bottom of the Agenda view, you can select “Show the next week” to add another week to the results. You can click that link as many times as necessary.

Once you’ve extended the Agenda view to include the date when the event will occur, you can use your browser’s search function (Control F on a PC, Command F on a Mac) to search for a keyword or phrase in the event name. Exactly how the browser’s search appears will depend on the browser, but it will look something like this:
