"Cloud Computing", "SaaS", and other terms that mean the same thing

Annoying buzz words are everywhere in the software industry. As far as I can tell, vendors use buzzwords so that they don't have to really know what they're talking about. One of the most over-buzz-worded topics is that of online software, and I want to explain just what everyone is talking about.

Right now, most software companies are saying that they use "cloud computing" or that their software is "in the cloud".
