How to set up a CRM for a web design contractor or a small firm

Posted by on May 2nd, 2012

Without designers, the whole internet would still look like Geocities from the mid-90s. Thankfully, there are more talented web designers around than ever before -- solo operators and small firms alike. If you're a talented web artist who needs help keeping your projects and deadlines straight, this is the CRM for you.

Click to start a 30-day, no-commitment trial with a template customized for design!

This template has two opportunity types customized  for the web design firms out there. The first is for lead management and qualification -- attach a "Deal" opportunity to a contact and you can track that contact from the status of "Prospect" up through "Sent quote," then either to a win or a loss of the job. Custom fields accept some detailed information about the job, including a summary, estimated value, and details.

If you secure a job, attach a "Design Project." Using this opportunity type, you can track clients from mock-ups to revisions to implementation to completion. Custom fields track due dates for the whole project and the current revision/step. Never lose track of where you are, when something is do, or any contact you've had with a client!

Don't worry, though -- we know that no two businesses are the same, and that includes design companies. You can customize everything about each of these opportunity types once you've signed up. Use the language you're accustomed to and change the processes so they fit your particular workflow instead of trying to fit into someone else's mold.

Sound like this might be up your alley? Start a trial now.  There's no commitment and we don't collect any payment information, so there's no risk to giving it a try. Cancel anytime you want. We won't jerk you around like those demanding customers of yours! (Just kidding. Sort of. But seriously, I've been looking at your mock-ups -- can you maybe make this logo a little more...foresty green? It's a little too... lily-pad green right now.)

Remember, we're always here to help you out if you have any questions at all!
